Escape Rooms FAQ

1) What is the recommended age limit?

Our games are intended for players 13+. All kids 12 and under must have at least one paying adult playing with them in order to enter the game room. Children 3 and under are not permitted.

You can bring your child (aged 4-7), but you must call Breakout to let them know before booking.

2) Do you operate every day and what time is the last game session?

Our first game begins at 10am. From Sunday-Thursday our last game begins at 9pm (players must arrive by 8:45pm at the latest). On Friday & Saturday the last game begins at 10:30pm (all players must arrive no later than 10:15pm).

3) What if I made a booking but am late for the session?

Please call us if you are going to be late. You may lose time in your game, or your reservation may be canceled if you do not arrive on time.

4) How long does one game session last?

Each game session lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and is divided as follows: a 15-minute explanation period, 60 minutes of play in the room, and 5 minutes more. In addition, there is the possibility of having an additional 5 minutes by choosing the time controller as the character.

5) What type of attire is suitable?

Comfortable clothing and shoes that are easy to move around are recommended because there will be slight physical obstacles in the games.

6) Do we need to bring indoor shoes?

From Winter-Spring, as long as there is sand or salt outside, we require indoor shoes to be worn (or you may play in socks or bring slippers)! All outdoor footwear during this time is not allowed, without exception.

7) What if I have shopping bags and luggage with me?

Each room is provided with a locker to store personal belongings or shopping bags. Locker keys will then be handed to you to hold on to until the game ends.

8) Is the game suitable for weak-hearted, pregnant ladies or those with disabilities?

All customers play at their own risk. Some rooms have physical challenges such as climbing or crawling, so if you are pregnant or have a disability and have a concern, we recommend to call ahead for more information.

9) How many players can play?

Each room holds 4-8 players. For larger groups, we suggest two or more rooms, or you can email us at info@dix30.breakoutescapegame.com for more information regarding large group.

11) Do I have to make a booking online or can I walk in?

We would advise online booking to secure your game session, especially during the weekends

12) Do I need to come early?

Yes, please come 10-15 minutes early because your game starts at the time you reserved and we need to explain the rules and regulations before you play. Unfortunately, if you come late you risk losing time in your game!

13) Where are you located?

You can find us at the DIX30 between the ALT Hotel and L’Étoile.

14) How do I reserve a game?

We encourage you to book online. Choose your date and time, as well as the room you want to play. Please provide your name, phone number, and email address. Payment will be required at the time of booking.

15) Can children play?

Yes, we have many families that come to play together. Our rooms are not scary however some children may be too young (under 7) to enjoy the mysterious music so it is at the discretion/risk of the parent to determine if it is an appropriate activity.

You can bring your child (aged 4-7), but you must call Breakout to let them know before booking.

16) Can I book for my child's party?

Yes, we have many kids aged 9+ birthday parties play one or two games, as long as one paying adult is present.

17) I want to book for a large corporate event or a private event of more than 10 people, who should I contact for more information?

Please email us directly at info@dix30.breakoutescapegame.com. Please specify the number of people in your event, as well as the time and date you would like to reserve, and a manager will help you make your reservation.

18) Are the games bilingual?

Yes, all games and staff are 100% bilingual.

19) Are tickets refundable?

No, all sales are final. Our game is a scheduled event; once the game is paid for and/or played, no refunds will be granted.

20) Can I reserve a party room?

We sell drinks, but do not have a party room. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted, and people visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry. If you are looking to cater or plan an after party event, we suggest reserving at one of the many restaurants nearby at the DIX30!

21) Can we come and play even if there are fewer than 4 players?

For groups of 2-3 players, we take walk-ins only. If the room is available at the specific time you arrive, you may play with fewer players. *except Cerebrum

22) I made a reservation, but I will have more/fewer people than expected. Should I call to inform you?

Please note that no refunds will be issued if fewer players attend than originally booked. However, if you have extra players joining you, we can process the additional payment on-site. There is no need to contact us in advance unless your group exceeds the room's maximum capacity.

23) Do you offer any promotions for birthdays?

Don't forget to enter the "BIRTHDAY" promotion if your birthday falls on the same day as your reservation. Please note that we will ask for ID on site.

24) Reservation Fee – $0.50 (non-refundable)

A $0.50 booking fee is applied to secure your time slot and cover administrative costs. This fee is non-refundable, including in cases of cancellation or no-show.

25) Is Missing Case of Masonville scary?

Yes. This game features intense horror and gore – Only for 13 years old and above.

1) What is Spy Game Junior?

It is a family-friendly adventure where you and your kids roleplay as spies inside a "mysterious toy factory".

Together, you will tackle challenges designed to test your speed, observation, and agility.

2) How does Spy Game Junior work?

Explore 16 unique theme rooms. With your 1 or 2-hour pass, go from mission to mission to get the highest score! Check in, gear up, and play.

3) What is the minimum age?

For safety reasons, children aged 0 to 3 are not allowed to play. This game is suitable for families with kids aged 4 to 13 . All children aged 13 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

4) How many people can play?

Each mission can accommodate 2-6 players. If you have more than 6 players, you can split your team into smaller groups and challenge different missions at the same time!

No. Spy Game Junior is designed to encourage you and your family to bond with each other, so adult supervision is required at all times.

8) Can I let my kids play alone?

No. As this is a family bonding activity, adult supervision is mandatory for every group. Take this opportunity to leave a smile on their faces while you have fun together!

9) Are there prizes?

Yes! If you achieve the highest score, your team name will be displayed on our leaderboard!

10) Is it accessible for people with disabilities?

The activities require moving, crawling, and climbing. It is therefore not recommended for people with significant physical limitations.

11) Can pregnant women play?

Yes, but we advise you to avoid rooms that represent a physically demanding challenge.

12) What should we wear?

We recommend comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement. Grips Socks are mandatory to enter.

13) What are your opening hours?

We are open from 10AM to 10PM daily. The first slot is at 9AM and the last slot is at 9PM.

There are no strict restrictions, but the game requires moving through confined spaces.

17) What is the difference between Spy Game and Spy Game Junior?

Spy Game Junior is a family friendly activity suitable for families with kids aged 4-13. Spy Game is an intense action packed spy roleplaying game with Live Actor suitable for age 12 and above.

18) Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, subject to availability. We strongly recommend booking online to guarantee your spot.

19) Is the game available in English?

Absolutely! You can choose your language (French or English) on the tutorial screen before entering each room.

20) Is it scary?

Not at all. It is a fun mission for kids, and the rooms are well-lit.

21) Can adults play?

Absolutely! Although designed for aged 4 to 13, the challenges are fun for all ages.

1) What is Spy Game?

Spy Game is a spy roleplaying game with LIVE ACTOR. Sneak, hide, disguise and do your best to complete your mission without getting caught by the live actor.

2) How to play Spy Game?

Spy Game is all about role playing as spies and completing the mission without getting caught by the live actor (NPC)! In this experience, you need to immerse yourself and be creative to:

  • Hide and sneak from live actor (NPC)
  • Infiltrate the area and solve the task 
  • Do the mission and accomplish your objective
  • Exit and finish within the time limit
3) How many puzzles are inside the experience?

At Spy Game, we do not have puzzles or riddles for you to solve in sequence in order for you to complete the game. Instead, you will encounter tasks or mini missions that you must accomplish to achieve your mission objective.

4) How many Spy Game missions are there?

All 5 missions come with different levels of difficulties to suit you. Find out more about our spy missions HERE.

5) Are the missions related and do I need to play them in sequence?

Yes, the missions are all related to one another but you don’t have to play them in sequence to enjoy them. Just pick a mission HERE that suits you and have fun.

6) How long is each mission?

Each mission is set to 45 minutes of gameplay experience.

7) Is Spy Game suitable for everyone?

As Spy Game requires players to go through physical obstacles and to crawl, climb and hide as needed, there are safety risks of playing the game and thus we ask you to always be aware of your surroundings and to inform us of any injuries. The game also employs minor crawl spaces and physical obstacles which may not accommodate everyone body sizes or body shapes.

8) Is there an age limit?

Spy Game is more suitable for young adult age of 15 and above. Age 14 and below can participate with adult supervision.

9) Can I bring in a child below the age limit?

Spy Game may be scary for kids, therefore children under 10 years old are not permitted, and children under 12 years old are not recommended. We reserve the right to ask for ID if needed to align with our safety measures. Refunds are not available, tickets are purchased at your own risk.

10) Is there a child price?

Nope.

11) Is the game suitable for weak-hearted, pregnant ladies, or individuals with disabilities?

It is not recommended for them to play as our spy missions have surprise elements and physical obstacles such as climbing, crawling, and more.

12) How do I know if the mission is too physical for me?

Each mission will have different kinds of obstacles where you are required to do some physical activities.

13) Is Mission 4 & Mission 5 suitable for kids or sensitive players?

No. Mission 4 & 5 is strictly for players aged 16 and above due to intense horror themes, graphic violence, and cult ritualism that may be deeply disturbing to younger audiences or sensitive individuals.

14) Is there a limitation on the group size?

A maximum of 6 players per group size is allowed for each mission.

15) What type of attire is suitable for the experience?

Something comfortable and won’t interrupt your movement, especially when crawling and climbing during the experience is preferred. Best to avoid heels, slippers and skirts at all costs.

16) How early should I arrive for my game session?

You should arrive at least 10 mins early for the registration and briefing session.

17) May I choose to walk in to play the game?

You can choose to walk in, however the game is subject to the availability of the session. We highly recommend that you proceed to book your session online in order to secure your slots.

18) What else do I need to prepare before playing Spy Game?

Do bring your smartphone with you as it is essential for accessing a program during gameplay.

19) What are the basic do's and don’ts in Spy Game?

As this is a gameplay experience, do keep in mind regarding the following:

  • a) Please be gentle with the items during your gameplay experience as it may affect another customer's experience. If players is found to have used brute force to break an item or prop , the player may be subject to a penalty.
  • b) Please be mindful and respectful during your interaction with the NPCs. Doing otherwise, may result players to be escorted out and leave the game early.
  • c) Please avoid any physical contact with the NPCs as they will not touch you too.
  • d) Please remember to empty out your pockets before leaving the game, in cases you had mistakenly taken our props or items out from the room as player.

By participating in the activity at Spy Game, you acknowledge that even under the safest conditions of practice, there exist some degree of inherent risk which are beyond the reasonable control of Spy Game, its officers, and employees and hereby agree to assume these risks and participate at your own responsibility.

Certain booking rules, terms and conditions apply for teambuilding (10 or more players), or multiple-room bookings (2 or more rooms) may apply.
